With new lockdown measures announced for November, we are having to make a few changes here at the brewery. We will of course be closing down all bar service from Thursday 5th November, but will continue to function as an off-license. Bar opening hours are extended through to 9pm until Wednesday 4th November.

We have a fantastic range of bottle conditioned ales available through the shop, from Pale Ales through to Imperial Porters. These can be purchased individually, in gift packs or in cases of 12. With Christmas on the horizon these can make a fantastic gift, perhaps alongside a hand crafted 8 Sail beer mug, made by a local artist.

For those looking for cask conditioned beer, we are still offering bag-in-a-box (10L and 20L), these are great for home bars or just those who want a bit more beer at home. These need to be ordered in advance and we usually suggest ordering 2 days before you would like it since they are made up to order. We will post a list of beers that will be available at the start of each week on our home page and on facebook. If you are not local to the area, or are unable to collect from us directly, bag-in-a-box can also be ordered online via Pint365.

Hopefully, we will all get through this safely and business will return to normal. Until then we will keep calm and carry on brewing!

The days are getting shorter, the evenings darker, and there is a chill in the air. Whilst this has never been an issue before, with as many bodies cramming into our small brewery bar as can fit, this year is different.

Current regulations that are in place to protect public health, limit the number of customers in the bar, so we had no choice but to make the bar bigger! With agreement from the Mill Trust we decided that the best thing to do, was put up a giant marquee (or circus tent?!), for the winter.

We will be providing table service in the marquee, but we will still need customers to continue to sign in (or scan in) at the front of the brewery bar for the time being.

Lantern lighting provides a cosy, beer hall-like atmosphere, with heating to keep everyone toasty.

We will continue to run our regular bar hours, but keep an eye out for any changes, which we will announce via social media and the website, as things develop.

Hope to see you all in the beer cave soon!

After 10 years in the industry we are celebrating with a much needed brand new website! Hopefully this will make it much easier for our customers, including trade, to find out what we do, where we are, and what we have. We hope to seamlessly combine this with our other social media platforms, to ensure that we are fully engaged and moving forward.

We have been fantastically supported over this very difficult year, and we are excited to engage with our customers and thank them personally. With big sales going through Beers of Europe, we are aware that that customer base is also expanding further. So, whilst we can keep the locals up-to-date with what we are brewing next, and the exciting plans we have, now we will be able to share further afield.

We are not the most techie folk around, so bare with us as we continue to improve the website and make it as easy to navigate as we can.

Thanks again,

The 8 Sail Team!
